A multilayered cathedral on a multilayered hill in Umbria, houses the tomb of St Francis (San Franesco d’Assisi). The old stones of the tomb lie beneath the structure, like a mustard seed, from which centuries of growth have sprouted, both physically and spiritually. The glory of the place is beyond words.
