This ride has it all! You name it! You want hills? Switchbacks? Elevation? Beach front Promenade? Highway? City? Country? Gravel? Dirt? Detours? Woodland beauty? Sweeping vistas? Vineyards? Roman relics? Single track in tiny hilltop villages? Moss covered descents? Broken asphalt and wheel-swallowing holes? Dead rats? (I rode over one). And more! I survived! 😅🚲

Finally found road conditions to rival Vashon! It took some exploring, but there here, in the remote hills of Tuscany.

Lucca, the old walled city. We rode on, around, in, out, and through the wall into the Tuscan neighborhoods surrounding the town.

Flying over Swiss Alps from Zurich to Florence.

Scenes from my second loop course out of Cotignac through the rolling hills of Provence. I was passed by a Jumbo Visma rider on the first climb, and gave up trying to catch him haha!

The most scenic, curvaceous, undulating, well maintained roads for cycling are the D roads in the hills and vineyards surrounding Cotignac. There is little traffic, and the terroir is magnifique.

All these pictures are from one single 45-mile ride today. Every 100m I felt like taking a photo or sampling local specialties.
